Rarthira, the Blacksmith

She wiped the sweat from her brow. With the last hammer blow the sword glowed green. The sword, Valor Heart, was restored. A sword created by her great grandfather to drive back the evil during the Calamity. Dark times had returned and the sword was brought home to Rarthira to restore. She spent weeks pouring over her grandfather’s notes and with his tools Valor Heart was whole once more.

My latest piece using Audrey Ironhand from bigchildcreatives sculpted by hugo_gomez_briones . It’s been an enjoyable project. As always a big thanks to my mentor, banshee.miniatureartacademy and my fellow LXP members for all the guidance, support, and friendship. Your lessons and friendships are appreciated.

Folks familiar with my work know I love little nods in my dioramas. In this case Its a tea cup. My grandfather would leave tea cups and tea bags all over his workshop.

I just finished this Alaana bust by bigchildcreatives
This is definitely one of the most beautiful sculpts I have ever seen, and I definitely hope to paint it again sometime in the future.

I tried to create a more tanned/reddish look since she is a pirate. I am also quite happy with the grin I amplified. This project was started and paused six months ago, and it was very satisfying to notice so many mistakes that I didn't before😊

I tried a different NMM. I don't know if it's NMM or not.
I just wanted to reflect some trees, sky, clouds, and fire.
But I forgot that the arm would block the breastplate. embarrassment

For the past few weeks I've been working on the 75mm variant of Valeria from bigchildcreatives for a competition hosted on the ageofsquidmar discord server. Judging for it occurs in a few days time so fingers crossed.

I, of course, drew inspiration from davidarrobaminiatures and banshee.miniatureartacademy and andywardle_artwork with the aid of feedback from benkomets and many others. It also gave me a chance to try out my new cultofpaint airbrush too which was very much worth it.

That's enough name dropping for now and sorry the photos don't show all of the diorama, Instagram is being weird about the size of the pictures.
