Angel bust

The angel bust is a figure that every lover of miniatures and collectible art figures wants to have. Thus, the angel bust offered by Bigchild Creatives is a high quality piece, which comes manufactured to be assembled by all artists at home.

This type of busts, of course, comes in custom scale. So you should pay close attention to the product description. That is, if you want to make a satisfactory purchase and not be disappointed when you receive your order.

Also, these models come unpainted. So you can use your favorite paint sets and bring your ideas to life. The colors made to create unique effects and textures will help you with it.

Just remember that the angel bust should not be left within reach of children. It is not suitable for children under 36 months, as it has a number of miniature-sized pieces that could cause problems.

With the angel bust you will have a piece of art full of class and elegance. Depending on the style you give it, this figure will perfectly fit the desired environment.

Angel bust materials

The bust is made from a resin kit for scale figures, made to assemble and paint. Therefore, it requires the use of glue and paint, which are usually not included in the kit.

Likewise, you may need to implement specific tools for scale modeling and putty, which are also not included in the kit.

Its main material, resin, used in modern resin and fiberglass sculptures, is completely handmade and includes different phases.

In the preliminary phase, the designers make the sketches of the works on paper, later the sculptors shape the clay models by hand or another kind of mold, also called “souls”, which are prior to the creation of the rubber molds.

To finish, the resin is added to a hardening liquid and poured into the molds, and then it waits for the resin to harden. Once the resin has hardened, the molds are opened and the unpolished statues are removed.

Now all that remains is to clean the sculptures of the residues they may have after the whole process, repair them and polish them by hand.

Once manually washed so that the surface of the fiberglass sculptures is perfect, we proceed to the decoration by using a dense paint called “primer”, which provides an ideal base for the final decoration.

The latter will take into account the desired final effect, whether matte, smooth, metallic or lacquered. So you must choose very well your choice at this stage.

For fiberglass sculptures and statues that cannot stand on their own, we provide a marble base that holds them securely and stably. The details of the resin sculptures are very meticulous, and the handcrafted decoration work is meticulously done.

Instructions for use of the Angel Bust

— Firstly, remember to remove the excess resin and remove the pieces from the molds.

— File very well all the lines of the mold to obtain a perfect finish.

— Check the fit of the pieces and glue them, it is important that they are well and not forced.

— Finally, you can use the putty if necessary to fill imperfections.

What is the best paint for Angel’s bust?

Resin figurines are found in most home decorations, and many people love the art of painting their resin ornaments themselves. But what paint is the best to get a good grip on resin and long-lasting results?

Well, the ideal paint for painting on resin is any type of acrylic paint. Specifically, Bigchild Creatives paints have a matte finish and great covering power; which is ideal for manual work on any porous surface, so you must file very well before starting to paint.

Also, this type of paint is available in a wide variety of colors, spreads easily and lasts over time without altering its original color.

You can purchase the paints in sets or collections at an excellent price. Generally, they are grouped by thematic collections that bring a great variety of colors and effects.

Likewise, to protect the painting and to guarantee a greater resistance and duration of the painting, it is advisable to varnish the wooden figure with some varnish or lacquer. Depending on the finish we want to give, there are gloss or matte varnishes.

Similarly, if you want to go further and create reliefs on resin surfaces, the Sandstone Paste is an ideal option. This paste, once dry, can be painted with water-based or solvent-based paint or can also be tinted with any type of water-based paint.

Alcohol and water based paints can be used, which makes it easier to paint small details. There are some who like to use acrylic paints for polychrome, it is a very economical option, but these paints are not always of the best quality and the range of colors is smaller.

If you find it difficult to mix colors, or you are color blind like me, it is better to use these paints in certain cases and not always.
